Twitch’s hosts, what they are and how to get them to
We continue with the explanation of the most useful features of Twitch, we have already started with the raids and their implementation. Now it’s time for a similar option, but it differs in small aspects. Let’s start without further ado by explaining the Twitch hosts, what they are and how to treat them.
What are Twitch hosts
Hosting is a feature that allows you to host a live streaming show when you are not doing a show. The chat used by the viewers will not be the chat of the hosted channel, but the chat of the channel that does the remote control, so if you host everything that the viewers share, it will be the chat of your channel.
This feature is another idea of the platform, so that the streamers support each other.
Now that you know the definition of the host, you will probably want to do it, we have already thought about it and will explain it in detail in the next section.
How to do Host in Twitch
You can host from your PC, your cell phone or leave your profile as an automatic hoster, we explain the three things to you.
Hosting from a computer
The first and only step is to go into the chat and enter the command host and the name of the channel you want to host, for example: /host cahloduty. Note that viewers and subscribers will see the content of the selected channel when you start the host. You can also watch the show, share it in chat and leave the show at any time, this does not stop the moderation. If you want to stop hosting, you need to write the code /unhost in the chat.
Hosting from your cell phone
You are far away from home and would like to host someone channel? No problem, you can do this from your cell phone. To do so, you need to insert the live streamer you want to create. In the broadcast of the channel you are going to moderate, an arrow-shaped icon will appear, it is located at the top, click on it and select the moderating channel.
If you want to stop hosting from your cell phone, go to Live Streaming and click on the same icon and this time select Stop Hosting.
Make the host automatically
With this option, your channel can be active all day long, i.e. during the hours when you are not logged in, it will automatically continue to broadcast live on other channels. To do this, click on Settings. Then scroll down to the option for automatic hosting and activate it. For quick access to this option, click here.
Once you have activated the automatic hosting option, you will need to select two types of distance: Channels from host computer (you will see streams of users on your computer) or create a hosting list (this option allows you to create a list of channels you want to send).
That’s it! You know how to make a host on Twitch.
